A delegation of the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) visited the Azerbaijani capital Baku. The main reason for the visit of the representatives of the NSSI was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the bulgarian institution and the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Azerbaijan. From the Bulgarian side the document was signed by the Vice-governor of the National Social Security Institute Vesela Karaivanova-Nacheva, and on behalf of the hosts Himalay Mamishov, chairman of the fund, signed it.
The Memorandum will help the NSSI and the Social Protection Fund to cooperate effectively in improving social security legislation in both countries and implementing necessary reforms and new approaches in the area of pensions and compensation. It also foresees an active cooperation on the development and implementation of e-services and the interoperability of databases. This is planned to take place through an active exchange of regulatory documents, analytical material and research results relevant to the field of activity of both organisations and through the organisation of bilateral visits at management and expert level.
